Terms of Service
Last updated: July 21, 2026
Welcome to Good Soil Society. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Good Soil Society (“Good Soil Society,” “GSS,” “we,” “us”) that governs your access to and use of goodsoilsociety.com, the GSS mobile and web applications (including “Sower”), and all related features, content, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, or by accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Good Soil Society is operated by a husband-and-wife team based in Central Texas. We build educational tools and a directory to help families grow and source regeneratively raised food.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
3. Your account
You are responsible for providing accurate information, for keeping your login credentials secure, and for all activity that occurs under your account. One account is for one person; do not share credentials. Tell us promptly at hello@goodsoilsociety.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings.
4. Sower and AI-generated content
Sower and other AI features generate responses using artificial intelligence and a curated knowledge base. AI output can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. It is provided for general educational purposes only. Always use your own judgment and verify important decisions — especially anything involving your health, your children, pregnancy, foraging or eating wild or unfamiliar plants, pesticide or chemical use, or significant expense — with a qualified professional and reputable primary sources. Do not rely on the Service for professional advice.
5. Educational information — not professional advice
Everything on the Service is educational. Nothing on the Service is medical, health, nutritional, financial, legal, or professional advice, and no professional relationship is created by your use of it. This information is educational. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized guidance. We are not licensed medical, nutritional, or financial professionals, and content should not replace advice from qualified providers who know your specific situation.
6. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation
The Service offers a free tier (Seedling) and, when available, paid subscription tiers (Grower, Steward). Paid subscriptions renew automatically for successive periods at the then-current price until you cancel. You authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method for each renewal.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access through the period you already paid for. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods.
- Refunds.If something is genuinely broken or didn't work for you, email us within 30 days of your first charge and we'll refund it.
- Founding-member pricing. When offered, a founding-member rate is locked for the life of your continuously active subscription. If you cancel and later resubscribe, the then-current rate applies.
- Price changes. We may change prices or plan features prospectively; we will give notice before a change affects your renewal, and your continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.
7. Usage limits and fair use
AI features are subject to daily and monthly usage limits by tier, and to reasonable fair-use ceilings that keep the Service sustainable. We may throttle, suspend, or adjust limits to protect the Service from abuse or excessive load.
8. The producer directory (“Find a Producer”)
The directory helps you discover regenerative producers. Listings are based on information that producers provide and publicly commit to. We make good-faith efforts to reflect producers' stated practices, but we do not independently guarantee, certify, or warrantany producer's practices, products, safety, availability, or claims. Any transaction, communication, or visit between you and a producer is solely between you and that producer, at your own risk. We are not a party to and are not responsible for those dealings.
9. Affiliate links and product recommendations
Some outbound links to products or producers are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through them at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products the founders have personally used, and rankings are based on regenerative merit — never on commission. See our Affiliate Disclosure. Purchases are made from third parties under their terms; we are not responsible for third-party products or fulfillment.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems you're not authorized to;
- scrape, resell, or bulk-extract the Service or its content without permission;
- probe, overload, or interfere with the Service, or misuse the AI (e.g., to generate harmful, deceptive, or abusive content);
- upload malware or submit content you don't have the right to share.
11. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit (for example, a producer application, a garden profile, feedback, or photos you send us). You grant Good Soil Society a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, use, and display that content as needed to operate and improve the Service and, for producer listings you consent to publish, to display them publicly. You are responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to share it.
12. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its text, design, logos, software, and curated knowledge base, is owned by Good Soil Society or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works from our content except as these Terms allow.
13. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties (for example, cloud hosting and database, AI model providers, payment processing, email delivery, and mapping). Your use may also be subject to those providers' terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability may affect the Service.
14. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and availability. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output or directory information will be accurate or complete.
15. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Good Soil Society and its founders will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, your reliance on any content or AI output, or any dealings with producers or third parties. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Good Soil Society and its founders from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
17. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (for example, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
18. Changes to the Service and these Terms
We may change, add, or remove features, and we may update these Terms. If we make material changes to the Terms, we'll notify you by email or a notice on the Service before they take effect. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
19. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the state and federal courts located in Texas will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not otherwise resolved, and you consent to venue there. Before filing anything, please contact us so we can try to resolve it directly.
