We review every application personally and respond within 14 days. The first Pledged and Verified producers will be visible publicly the moment they're listed — no waitlist, no embargo, no “launching when we have 20 signups.” If we've listed one, it shows up here.
How a producer gets here
Two tiers. Both publicly visible.
Good Soil Pledged. The producer has publicly committed to the Good Soil Standard and stated their specific practices openly — tied to their name. Pledged producers appear in the directory with the Pledged badge and can sell at pop-up market events and through the virtual market.
Good Soil Verified.Everything Pledged promises, plus someone from GSS has personally visited and confirmed the practices match the claim. Verified producers appear with the Verified badge — the strongest trust signal — and it's the tier we naturally encourage for higher-stakes categories like meat, poultry, and raw dairy.
The badge stays honest through public specificity and community visibility, not paperwork. Anyone can raise a concern about a listing that misrepresents its practices, and a listing can be removed — no quiet grandfathering. The list is the public version of the standard, and it has to mean something.
